  Lee Kernaghan

  Lee Kernaghan reinvigorated Australian Country Music in the 1990’s, synthesising traditional country themes with his own brand of rural rock and images of an evolving regional culture. Songs like The Outback Club, Boys from The Bush, Hat Town, She’s My Ute and Australian Boy are now modern day anthems for a generation of Australians living and working on the land.

  In 2015 Lee released the epic work, “Spirit of The Anzacs”, based on a collection of letters and diary records from Australian servicemen and women, some dating back to the landings at Gallipoli. On its release the album struck a chord with the Australian people holding the number 1 position on the Australian ARIA Album Chart for four consecutive weeks and was the highest selling album by an Australian artist (all genres) for 2015. All proceeds from the “Spirit Of The Anzacs” song and music video featuring music greats Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Shepherd, Shannon Noll, Jon Stevens and Megan Washington are donated in perpetuity to veteran support groups – Legacy Australia and Soldier On.

  Lee has sold over two and a half million albums in Australia with releases including Outback Club, Three Chain Road, 1959, Hat Town, Rules Of The Road, Electric Rodeo, New Bush, Ultimate Hits, Spirit Of The Bush, Planet Country, Beautiful Noise and Spirit Of The Anzacs all achieving platinum or multi-platinum status. Lee is a four-time ARIA award winning artist and in 2015 he was presented with the Australian Record Industry Award for Outstanding Achievement.

  Lee has achieved a staggering 38 #1 chart hit songs over his career and has been awarded 37 Golden Guitars. He has been named Hit Maker of the Decade, twice, in 2001 and 2011. This accolade is in recognition of Lee having more chart hits in Australia than any other country music artist in the world.

  Kernaghan is long-time and passionate supporter of rural and regional Australia. His Pass the Hat Around Australia Tours, Spirit of The Bush and Farmhand concerts have raised millions of dollars for drought, flood and bushfire relief, hospitals, schools, ambulance and volunteer organisations nation-wide. In 2004 Kernaghan was the recipient of an Order of Australia Medal and was named 2008 Australian of the Year.

  Lee Kernaghan’s 2017 Boys from The Bush 25th Anniversary Tour launched in Tamworth on Australia Day and sold out 29 of the 32 shows on the 2017 tour. The tour was a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Lee’s amazing career and of the release of his first single and album, the legendary Boys From The Bush, and the album it came from – Outback Club. By popular demand this record breaking tour was extended through 2018 and again the tour achieved sell out concerts throughout the year.

  At the end of the 25th Anniversary Tour Lee began the writing process for a new album called “Backroad Nation”.

  “Backroad Nation” is a collection of stories and themes that caught Lee’s attention from the places he travelled to, and the people he met, whilst on tour. It is a celebration of all things Australian and a tip of the hat to our regional and rural communities who have faced some of their most severe challenges ever in recent years. The first single from the album “Wheels” was released early March and the album will be launched on 10th May.

  In 2019 Lee will undertake his most extensive tour for many years travelling to every state and territory on the Backroad Nation Tour. The Tour begins in May and concludes at the end of November.

  Troy Cassar-Daley

  Troy Cassar-Daley isn’t just a musician, he’s a storyteller, a custodian of culture, and a voice that echoes across the Australian landscape.   In April 2022, Australian country music artist Max Jackson became the 42nd winner of Toyota Star Maker - Australia’s most prestigious country music competition. Max is currently writing and preparing for the four-track EP, which she won as part of her prize and looking forward to playing festivals and events throughout the rest of the year.

  Ian Moss

  Ian Moss first came to attention as the guitarist for Australian rock legends Cold Chisel. After they split up in 1983, Jimmy Barnes jumped into a successful solo career, but Moss laid low, only forming the Ian Moss Band in 1986. After spending nine months in L.A. sorting through song demos, he eventually co-wrote "Tucker's Daughter" with former Cold Chisel bandmember Don Walker. The song went to number one in Australia in March 1989 and his debut album, Matchbook, was released in September. It also went to number one and sold over 210,000 copies. Moss took out several awards at the 1989 Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Awards, including Male Artist of the Year, Best Debut Album, Best Album, Best Debut Single, and Song of the Year (for "Tucker's Daughter"). An Australian tour followed before Moss returned to the studio in 1991 to record his second album, Worlds Away. Again working with co-writer Don Walker, it also featured a re-working of the Cold Chisel classic "Bow River." The album wasn't as successful as Matchbook, and Moss disappeared from public view for the next five years until the release of Petrolhead in 1996. The album was reissued in 1997 with a bonus album, Ian Moss Live.   Catherine Britt

  There’s no denying that Catherine Britt has well and truly lived her life and it’s all laid bare on her ninth career album, “The Hardest Thing”.

  This is an album that is intended to be listened to from start to finish. And nothing is held back. It touches on the exploitation she endured as a young female in the music industry, her marriage breakdown, mustering the strength to heal, her road to sobriety and finding love again. “The Hardest Thing” is the ultimate triumph of one of Australia’s most loved and celebrated country artists. This is the sound of redemption and Catherine Britt at her absolute finest.

  For her next chapter, Catherine has stripped things back and is keeping things close. She’s taken time and space to not only write but record, with the majority of “The Hardest Thing” being recorded at her home in Newcastle. She and husband, Bradley Bergen produced, mixed and played the bulk of the record while mastering engineer, William Bowden, was called upon to give it the final polish.

  The lead single and album opener, “One Divorce, Two Kids & A Few Whiskies Ago”, sums up her life and the story of her new album in three and a half minutes. The following twelve tracks allow her the luxury to dive deeper and explore themes in greater detail. “You Don’t Love Here Anymore”, is a heartbreaking account of the devastation of domestic violence. “Pay No Mind to Me”, musically channels her hero, Hank Williams while lyrically being straight to the point. “Maybe Not” questions whether she should stay in a relationship that’s gone south … or maybe not. “A Little North of Sydney” is about the ties that bind her to her hometown of Newcastle NSW, but how after a relationship sours, the city “feels like it’s not big enough when you break it into two”. “Red Pickup Truck” talks of how she instantly freezes whenever she catches a glimpse of a certain vehicle while the title track, “The Hardest Thing”, puts things firmly into perspective. The brutally honest track talks about how the hardest thing in her life will never be leaving a relationship that has run its course.

  The second half of the album sees Catherine come out with all guns blazing and informs you to “run for the hills and hide” as she is now in her “Cowgirl Era”. “Sky Blue” is a vulnerable moment about shutting the world out when things get too overwhelming. Co-written with David Lee Murphy, “What I Want”, brings out a wild and raunchy side while “I Found a New Love” and “Only A Country Boy Knows”, talk about finding love and safety with the right person. The album closes with a reflective and tender, “Broken Heart At 33”, dedicated to her now husband.

  Catherine Britt is one of the most successful artists in Australian country music. She is a five-time Golden Guitar Award winner, six-time ARIA Award Best Country Album nominee, signed to RCA in the US at just 17, earned two US Billboard Top 40 Chart singles, toured and worked with everyone from Brooks & Dunn to Alan Jackson to Dolly Parton, is the youngest Australian ever to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and recorded a duet with Sir Elton John.

  n 1992, Tania Doko and James Roche formed Bachelor Girl and the duo became one of the most loved Australian acts of the 1990’s and early 2000’s, enjoying Australian and international success in Asia, Scandinavia and the US (including signing with the legendary Clive Davis at Arista Records). Standing out with their exceptional song writing and Tania’s warm, powerful vocal, both PPCA and APRA have reported a massive achievement for the band - their hit single ‘Buses and Trains’ was the most played Australian composition on Australian radio in its first year of release and during the last 25 years overall.

  Bondi Cigars

  Rarely has an Australian band received as much consistent and widespread acclaim from critics and music fans alike as the Bondi Cigars. With half a dozen albums under their belt already, and over a dozen years of constant touring, this award winning quartet have well and truly worked their way into Australia’s musical heart.

  The Bondi’s have consistently delivered the goods; with Down In The Valley nominated in the 2003 ARIA awards for Best Blues & Roots Album, 1995’s After Closing Time awarded Best Blues Album at the 1996 Lithgow Blues Festival, and two of their songs, Lead Me Not Into Temptation and Intensive Care, chosen to feature on the popular ABC Seachange album.

  In 2015, the band released their 10th album, “Child in the Desert” and it has been well received by fans and critics.

  The band has been invited to perform at festivals such as The Melbourne International Music & Blues Festival, Great Southern Blues & Rockabilly Festival, Moomba Festival, Queenscliff Festival, The Byron Bay East Coast Festival and The Kangaroo Point Festival. The band are also regular guests at leading Australian venues such as The Governor Hindmarsh in Adelaide, The Basement in Sydney, The Healer in Brisbane, The Charles Hotel in Perth and The Corner Hotel in Melbourne.

  With their fantastic mix of blues, soul, funk and R & B, they have maintained their status as one of this country’s most in-demand touring acts, with shows numbering over a hundred and fifty each year. Over a decade later, many original fans are still supporting the band.

  The Bondi Cigars have also built a solid reputation as one of the best live acts in the country.

  As with all great bands, the sum of the whole exceeds the sum of the parts and The Bondi Cigars are no exception:

  Shane Pacey (vocals and guitar) the principle songwriter and vocalist, came to the Cigars after playing with bands such as Sydney’s Earls Of Duke. His songwriting and dynamic vocals, teamed with the fluid rhythms of Alan, have largely defined the sound and direction of The Bondi Cigars.

  Alan Britton (bass and vocals) brings to the band his many years experience playing with some of this country’s foremost roots outfits including the Mangrove Boogie Kings, the legendary Dynamic Hepnotics and the Foreday Riders. His instinctive feel for a groove and ability to ride the rhythm lay the base for those great Bondi tunes.

  Eben Hale (guitar and vocals) was a driving force behind the successful Blue Mountain Blues Club, playing in the house band at the Club’s meetings as well as taking a behind-the-scenes role booking acts and ensuring their events ran smoothly. Eben’s burgeoning songwriting talents and effusive guitar lines add an extra dimension to the already vibrant sound of the Bondi Cigars.

  Frank Corby (drums)

  From Boston, Massachusetts, USA, now a resident in Australia who cut his teeth in various Drum Corp, Swing and Funk bands before playing in various original rock, R&B and funk bands touring all over the USA. Since arriving in Australia he has lent his awesome skills to acts such as Gangajang, Floyd Vincent and the Childbrides, Guy LeClaire and Latin big band Babalu. He was the resident drummer with the Blue Mountains blues jam band where he played regularly with soon-to-be Cigar, Eben Hale.
