DJ Tone: A night of house music + morris dancing YOUTH MUSIC LAB FUNDRAISER

Fundraising gig: House Night for the Next Generation Join us for a fundraising gig in aid of Patchwork's Youth Music Lab - our programme supporting the next generation of budding musicians, sound techs, and creatives. Every ticket sold will go towards giving young people in the area free access to the kind of hands-on music-making and technical skills that can be hard to come by otherwise, taught in our fully kitted out music recording studio next door. The more you can give, the more young talent we can support - so dig deep if you can. Tony Davey (AKA DJ Tone) makes his Patchwork debut, after serving up excellent house bangers at his first gig in Garrison last year. Expect a night of house tunes so good that Tony's son once said, "I didn't know old people could dance like this" - the set is named in his honour. Music from the old people, funding music for the young people. How brilliant is that? It's pay as you feel (minimum £5) because we want everyone there, and every extra pound goes straight to the Youth Music Lab. As well as all that, Wreckers Border Morris will be joining us outside for a display and workshop - come and watch, or learn the dances and join in yourself. Don't say we don't treat you! Wreckers Border Morris is a vibrant, energetic side from the Cornwall–Devon border, performing traditional and original dances with their own inimitable flair and charismatic style. Expect a wall of sound that lifts dancers and audience alike to a new level of fun. They dance like it matters! Run order: 7:00–7:30pm — Morris display dances 7:30–8:00pm — Learn the dances with the Wreckers 8:00–8:30pm — Further display dances as the sun sets over Maker 8:30pm onwards — DJ Tone in Patchwork Studios Garrison Gallery next door will be open all evening for refreshments - soft drinks, beer, cider, and crafted cocktails to keep you going.
