Cinema, Poetry, and a Book Launch Party!

A cultural evening in memory of Ásgeir H. Ingólfsson, poet and cultural journalist, who passed away in January 2025. August 20 marks what would have been the 50th anniversary of Ásgeir’s birth.

Ásgeir’s friends and family invite everyone to an open gathering at Bíó Paradís, one of Ásgeir’s favorite places in Iceland, where both film and literature will be celebrated.

A film screening is planned for 5:00 p.m. (details about the film will be announced later). Afterwards, there will be a launch party for Ásgeir’s new poetry collection, Next War (Næsta stríð). Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the book, mingle, and take part in an open mic by performing or reading aloud.

The evening will be a celebration in Ásgeir’s spirit, and everyone is welcome.
