o celebrate the release of their new album Before The Show, Tex Perkins and Matt Walker return to the stage for a series of special performances throughout September to November 2026. Built on decades of friendship and musical collaboration, these shows showcase two of Australia's most respected artists at their most authentic. Performing songs from Before The Show alongside carefully selected favourites, Perkins and Walker deliver an intimate evening of exceptional songwriting, masterful musicianship and unforgettable storytelling.
Recorded largely as first takes, Before The Show captures the honesty and spontaneity that have long defined their partnership. Those same qualities come alive on stage, where no two performances are ever quite the same.

Tex Perkins - The Man in Black
Tex Perkins (real name Greg Perkins) is an iconic Australian singer-songwriter, who is widely known for fronting popular surf / roots band, The Cruel Sea, and legendary swamp / blues band, the Beasts of Bourbon. Tex has also been in Thug, James Baker Experience, The Butcher Shop, Salamander Jim, and Tex, Don and Charlie and released solo records with his own backing bands, The Dark Horses.
Born in Brisbane and currently living in Byron Bay, Tex Perkins, like Nick Cave and very few others, is one of Australia's rock and roll untouchables. A combination of talent, hard work, consistency and self-deprecating wit have effectively put Tex Perkins beyond criticism.
